Jharkhand/Ranchi: IAS officer Alka Tiwari assumed office as State Election Commissioner on Thursday. She was appointed State Election Commissioner after retiring from the post of Chief Secretary on September 30.
The Jharkhand government's Panchayati Raj Department issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday evening. According to the notification, her term will be for four years from the date she assumes office. If she attains the age of 65 before the expiry of four years, her term will be deemed to have ended on that date.
