Two donation boxes at the temple were broken into and thousands of rupees stolen


Jharkhand/Chatra: Thousands of rupees were stolen from two donation boxes at the famous Maa Ashtabhuja Temple, Morsherwa Pahadi Navadih, located in the Pathalgada block of Chatra district. On Sunday night, unknown thieves broke open the steel donation boxes located at the main gate at the base of Morsherwa Pahadi and the veranda of the Maa Ashtabhuja Temple at the top of the hill, stealing the cash.

Thefts were also committed at Vikas Kumar's puja shop within the premises. On Monday, when the temple priest, Sudama Pandey, arrived to perform puja, he found the donation boxes broken. He informed the temple management committee. Following the information, a large number of villagers arrived and became aware of the situation. District Council member Ram Sevak Dangi, Mukhiya Kanchan Devi, former Mukhiya Meghan Dangi, social worker Ramchandra Dangi, Ramesh Thakur of the temple management committee, former Panchayat Samiti members Rajesh Dangi, Vinod Dangi, and Mukesh Kushwaha arrived. They demanded that those responsible be identified and punished. They are deeply saddened by this incident. The theft has been reported to the Pathalgada police. Previous attempts were made to break the donation box during the Mahayagna. People reported that both donation boxes were not opened after the Mahayagna. The donation boxes may have contained donations worth thousands of rupees. A case was filed against the unknown thief at the police station late this evening.
