PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 18,530 crore including bio-ethanol plant in Assam today


Assam/Guwahati: PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of infrastructure and industrial development projects worth more than Rs 18,530 crore in Assam on Sunday. These include Darang Medical College and Hospital, GNM School and B.Sc. Nursing College.

With an aim to promote clean energy and reduce dependence on fossil fuels, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Assam Bioethanol Plant at Numaligarh Refinery Ltd. (NRL) today. He will also lay the foundation stone of the polypropylene plant here.

The foundation stone of the Guwahati Ring Road Project will be laid to increase traffic facilities in the capital Guwahati. Apart from this, the foundation stone of Kuruwa-Narengi bridge on the Brahmaputra river will be laid.

Earlier last evening, Prime Minister Modi attended the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of Bharat Ratna-awarded singer and musician Dr. Bhupen Hazarika in Guwahati. On this occasion, he unveiled a commemorative coin of Rs 100 and released the biography of Bhupen Hazarika in 21 languages.

Prime Minister Modi started his three-day tour from 13-15 September from Mizoram on Saturday and after that he went to Manipur. From there he reached Guwahati, the capital of Assam in the evening. The Prime Minister will address the commanders of the armed forces by inaugurating the 16th Joint Commanders Conference-2025 in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal on 15 September. The 16th Joint Commanders Conference, held once in two years, is being organized in Kolkata from 15 to 17 September.

Along with this, on September 15, the Prime Minister will visit Bihar, where he will launch the National Makhana Board. This board will facilitate the market, export and brand development of Makhana along with promoting production and development of new technology. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the interim terminal building of the airport in Purnia. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several development projects worth about Rs 36,000 crore in Purnia.

He will lay the foundation stone of the thermal power project at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur, which will be the largest private sector investment of Rs 25,000 crore in Bihar. During this, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of the first phase of Kosi-Mechi inter-state river connectivity project costing more than Rs 2680 crore.
