Nephew orchestrated Etwa's murder; three arrested, including the main accused

Jharkhand/Khunti: Budhuwa Oraon, alias Etwa Bakhla, a resident of Malgo village under the Karra police station, was murdered by his nephew with the intention of usurping his land.

Revealing the murder, police arrested Jeevan Kachhap, a resident of Malgo, Karra, along with Walter Kachhap, a resident of Major Kothi, Jojo Naga, a resident of Bajra, Pandra police station, and Anli Kachhap, alias Karma Kachhap, a resident of Kachchabari, Karra, on Sunday. This information was given by Torpa Sub-Divisional Police Officer Christopher Kerketta at a press conference held at the Karra police station on Monday. It is noteworthy that the body of Budhuwa Oraon (64) was recovered by police on September 22 from bushes near Setahuru village on the Setahuru-Latratu main road.

The SDPO stated that the Superintendent of Police had received intelligence that the murder suspects were hiding in Jojo Naga. Investigation revealed that Budhuwa Oraon's murder was orchestrated by his nephew, Jeevan Bakhla, with a contract of ₹1.4 million.

Budhuwa Oraon had no sons, only two daughters. Therefore, he planned to murder his uncle by hiring a contract killer to usurp his uncle's land. Police first arrested Baltar Kachhap at his home in Jojo Naga Bajra, under the Pandra OP of Ranchi district. Baltar confessed to murdering Budhuwa Oraon along with his associates.

On his information, police recovered the scooter used in the murder, the deceased's scooter, and ₹90,000. Based on Balter's information, the police also arrested two of his associates, Anil Kachhap alias Karma Kachhap (Kachhabari, Karra) and the deceased's nephew, Jeevan Bakhla (Malgo, Karra). Four lakh fifty thousand rupees were recovered from Anil Kachhap. Police also seized four mobile phones from the accused, which were used for communication during the murder.

The raiding team formed to solve this case and arrest the accused included Torpa SDPO Christopher Kerketta, Circle Police Inspector Ashok Kumar Singh, Karra Police Station in-charge Manish Kumar, Sub-Inspector Mukesh Kumar Yadav, Deepak Kant Kumar, Bharat Bhushan Patel, and armed forces personnel from Karra Police Station.
