New Delhi : Mother Dairy will pass on the benefits of the 100% reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) to consumers. Therefore, it has announced price reductions ranging from ₹2 to ₹30 on its products. These new prices will be effective from September 22nd.
Mother Dairy on Tuesday announced price reductions on daily essential products such as toned milk, cheese, butter, ghee, paneer, and premium cow ghee. Following the price reduction, the price of a liter of toned UHT tetra pack milk will drop from ₹77 per liter to ₹75, while a 450 ml pack will now be available for ₹32 instead of ₹33. The price of a 180 ml pack of flavored milkshakes will also drop from ₹30 to ₹28.
Mother Dairy has also reduced the price of cheese. Now, a 200-gram pack of paneer will be available for ₹92 instead of ₹95, and a 400-gram pack of paneer will be available for ₹174 instead of ₹180. Similarly, a 200-gram pack of malai paneer will be sold for ₹97, down from ₹100. Similarly, prices of ghee and butter have also been reduced. A 500-gram pack of butter will now be available for ₹285 instead of ₹305, and a 1-liter carton of ghee will be available for ₹645 instead of ₹675.
Mother Dairy Managing Director Manish Bandlish said that the GST rate reduction is a direct relief for consumers. He said, "We are passing on the benefits of the government's GST to customers without any delay. This will increase the consumption of packaged foods, improve farmers' incomes, and strengthen the entire supply chain."
