Jharkhand/Ranchi : Indian Administrative Service (IPS) officer Rakesh Ranjan assumed charge as the 74th Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Ranchi on Friday. Ranchi's outgoing Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chandan Sinha handed over the charge to him and congratulated him on his new responsibility.
Speaking to reporters after assuming charge, Rakesh Ranjan said that Ranchi Police has performed well under Chandan Sinha's leadership and will continue this work. He stated that working in a capital like Ranchi is a major challenge, and he will make every effort to meet it. He will fulfill the responsibility entrusted to him by the government with full dedication and commitment.
The new SSP stated that controlling crime will be his top priority. It is crucial to curb all criminal cases, from minor to major, in the capital. To achieve this, all station heads will be assigned special tasks to effectively control crime. He also stressed the need to focus on improving traffic management to relieve traffic congestion.
Rakesh Ranjan assured the people of Ranchi that he is available to them 24 hours a day. His mobile phone is always on, and anyone can contact him directly at any time for assistance. He also appealed to the public to cooperate in improving policing.
The SSP also stated that the good work done by the Ranchi Police will continue to be promoted. His sole goal is to provide the public with a safe and efficient policing experience. Several Deputy Inspector Generals of Police (DSPs) from the capital were also present on the occasion.
