Rajasthan/Sikar: Devotees will not get the opportunity to have darshan for 43 hours in the world famous Baba Khatushyamji temple located in Sikar district. According to the order issued by the temple administration, the doors of the temple will be closed from 10 pm tonight and darshan will resume from 5 pm on September 8.

Shri Shyam Mandir Committee Minister Manvendra Singh Chauhan said that there is a lunar eclipse on September 7, while Baba Shyam's annual Tilak Mahotsav is to be held on September 8. Due to these reasons, according to tradition, darshan will be closed in the temple from the night of September 6 to the evening of September 8. During this period, only religious rituals and traditional activities will be performed in the temple premises.

It is noteworthy that this court of Baba Khatushyamji is the center of faith of crores of devotees coming not only from the country but also from abroad. A large number of devotees gather here every month after Amavasya and on special festivals. On these occasions, Baba is specially adorned with Tilak and Shringar. According to tradition, the temple is kept closed before Tilak so that religious rituals can be completed without any hindrance. The temple committee has appealed to the devotees not to plan the visit before the scheduled time and reach for Darshan only after 5 pm on 8 September.
