Salah created history, became PFA Player of the Year for the third time

 


London: Liverpool star striker Mohamed Salah has created a new history. He has become the first player to win the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) Men's Player of the Year Award for the third time. Salah had previously won this title in 2018 and 2022. This time he topped the shortlist of six players, which included his Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister, Manchester United's Bruno Fernandez, Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, Chelsea's Cole Palmer and Arsenal's Declan Rice. The 33-year-old Salah received this honor for his important contribution to Liverpool's Premier League title win last season. He scored 29 goals and 18 assists in the 2024-25 season, making him the league's top scorer.

   Salah also won the Premier League Player of the Season and the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year awards this season.In addition, Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rodgers was named Young Player of the Year, while former England manager Gareth Southgate was honoured with the 2025 PFA Merit Award.
