I am speechless, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren is no more among us: Hemant Soren

Ranchi: Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Union Minister, currently MP and hero of the tribals of the whole country, Dishom Guru Shibu Soren passed away at the age of 81 in Delhi's Gangaram Hospital. He was ill for a long time. Let us know what was the condition of his health and how he was being treated.

How did Shibu Soren die, kidney, diabetes, heart disease or brain stroke became an excuse

One of the most influential symbols of tribal consciousness in Jharkhand politics, founder of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and three-time Chief Minister Shibu Soren is no more. He was addressed by his followers as 'Dishom Guru' i.e. 'Guru of the tribals'. But for the last few years, his life was confined to hospitals and treatment.

  At 8:56 am on 4 August 2025, he breathed his last at Sir Gangaram Hospital in Delhi. He was suffering from several serious illnesses for a long time, including chronic kidney failure, diabetes, heart disease, and eventually a brain stroke. 81-year-old Shibu Soren's health had been deteriorating for the last few years and for the last two months he was kept in the ICU under intensive medical supervision. He was admitted to the Nephrology Department from June 19, 2025 for about two months.

1. Shibu Soren was suffering from a serious kidney disease. He was on regular dialysis for about a year and was admitted to Chronic Kidney Disease and Dialysis. In early June 2025, when his kidney condition deteriorated, he was brought to Delhi and admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital from June 19, 2025.

2. He was a diabetic patient, which further complicated his overall health condition.

3. He had cardiac problems and had already undergone heart bypass surgery.

4. After being admitted to the hospital, he suffered a brain stroke which caused unconsciousness and paralysis of the left side of the body (left limbs were not working). For the first four days right after the stroke, he was on ventilator support. The situation remained worrisome.

5. Medical monitoring and recovery period

The team of neurology, cardiology and nephrology jointly took care of him. Foreign experts were also consulted over video-call.

  Despite being initially critical, he opened his eyes after a week and showed signs of improvement. But after a slight improvement in July, the condition deteriorated again in early August.

  These multiple comorbidities, kidney failure (on dialysis), diabetes, heart disease and brain stroke combined to make Shibu Soren's health deterioration severe. Despite the tireless efforts and consultations of doctors, he passed away on 4 August 2025 at 8:56 am.

     Shibu Soren's son and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that today I have become void. Guruji has left us all. Today I am speechless.
