In Bihar, in the state cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, 16 proposals have been approved including the approval of reduction / exemption in the application fee of all examinations (Bihar Public Service Commission / Bihar Staff Selection Commission / Bihar Technical Service Commission / Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission / Central Constable Selection Board, Bihar etc.) for government jobs under the government.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had announced from Gandhi Maidan on the occasion of Independence Day to make the examination fee Rs 100 and waive the fee in the main examination. He has given approval in today's cabinet.
Apart from this, in-principle approval has been given to construct and operate two five-star hotels in Rajgir of Nalanda district and one five-star resort in Vaishali district through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for the convenience of tourists as per the provisions of Infrastructure Development Enabling (Amendment) Act-2023.
In the meeting, approval has been given to increase the previously provisioned amount from Rs 15 thousand to Rs 30 thousand to the teachers receiving the State Teacher Award from the financial year 2025-26.
Bihar Sugarcane Development Service (Recruitment, Promotion and Service Conditions) Rules, 2025 were approved in the Sugarcane Industry Department.
Approval has been given to spend Rs 6 crore as one-time grant under the National Agricultural Market DPR Based Scheme in 20 market premises in the financial year 2025-26.

The headquarters of Bihar Special Armed Police Corps will be built in Mauthabari of Banka district. For this, approval was given to give free land to the Home Department. Approval has been given to transfer land to Bihar State Power Transmission Company for 132/33 kV grid sub station in Chausa of Madhepura district.
During the meeting, 19.43 km section on Salepur, Narsanda, Telmar, Karauta NH-30 will be expanded from 2 lanes to 4 lanes. Administrative approval of Rs 539 crore has been given for this.
Rs 364 crore has been approved for the construction of 4 lane highway including ROB on the access road to the International Cricket Stadium in Rajgir.
In the cabinet meeting, approval was given to celebrate the birth anniversary of late Upendra Nath Verma, freedom fighter and former minister, Government of Bihar, every year on 23 August as a state function at his statue site located at the north-west corner of Digdhi pond in Gayaji city.
This year, government employees will get a total of 44 days of leave. There will be 11 days of general leave in all the government offices of the Bihar government. At the same time, there will be 17 days of optional/restricted leave. Apart from this, 15 days of public holiday have been declared, while there will be annual closing of accounts for one day. In the Nitish cabinet meeting, the proposal sent by the General Administration Department regarding the holidays for the year 2026 has also been approved.
