Ranchi, September 23, 2026: The 11th Ayurveda Day was observed with a special programme on Wednesday. The theme of the programme was “Ayurveda for a Healthy Future.”
Addressing the programme, Director AYUSH Dinesh Kumar Yadav said that Ayurveda is India’s ancient, scientific and holistic system of healthcare. He said Ayurveda is not limited to the treatment of diseases but also promotes a healthy lifestyle through a balanced diet, regular routine and mental well-being.
Dinesh Kumar Yadav said that the importance of Ayurveda has increased due to changing lifestyles, irregular eating habits, stress and environmental challenges. He stressed the need for extensive public awareness campaigns to take Ayurveda to people across the state.
He highlighted the important role of AYUSH personnel working in rural and remote areas. He said they can create awareness among people about health, yoga, medicinal plants and healthy lifestyle practices.
He said Ayurveda Day is not merely a formal event but an opportunity to adopt the principles of Ayurveda in daily life. He urged AYUSH officials and personnel to provide quality healthcare services with dedication and sensitivity.
The programme also emphasised conducting awareness activities related to Ayurveda and yoga in schools, colleges, panchayats and communities.
Shivji Verma urged the participants to provide services with dedication and share information about ways to achieve a healthy and long life through Ayurveda.
Deputy Director (Ayurveda) Dr. Krishna Kumar provided information about various ways Ayurveda can help people achieve better health. Medicinal plants were also planted during the programme.
Dr. Vakil Kumar Singh, Registrar, Jharkhand State AYUSH Medical Council, spoke in detail about the importance of Ayurveda.
The programme was attended by Unani Medical Officer Dr. Fazlus Sami, Homeopathic Medical Officer Dr. Nirmal Kumar, State Coordinator Dr. Anuj Kumar Mandal, AYUSH Community Health Officers, yoga instructors and personnel from the AYUSH Directorate and District Joint Dispensary working in Ranchi district.
