Jharkhand extends significant support to Assam flood victims, Chief Minister Hemant Soren donates ₹3 crore
Ranchi, August 6: In a humanitarian gesture to assist those affected by the devastating floods in Assam, the Jharkhand government has provided financial assistance of ₹3 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, Assam. Chief Minister Hemant Soren wrote a letter to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma in this regard, assuring Jharkhand of all possible support.
In his letter, the Chief Minister stated that Assam is currently facing a severe crisis due to the devastating floods. The floods have caused massive loss of life and property, leaving thousands homeless. It is everyone's moral responsibility to stand with the people of Assam in such difficult times.
He stated that the Jharkhand government and the people of the state express deep sympathy for the flood-affected families and are committed to providing all possible assistance in relief and rehabilitation efforts. In this spirit, the state government has decided to provide ₹3 crore in aid.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren also appealed to the able citizens of Jharkhand to come forward and help the flood-affected people of Assam. He commended the courage and patience of the people of Assam and prayed to Goddess Kamakhya for the state's speedy recovery from the disaster and the restoration of normal life.
The Chief Minister also assured that if additional assistance is needed in the future, the Jharkhand government will be ready to provide all possible support. Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the Jharkhand government for this support.
