Major Relief for IAS Vinay Kumar Chaubey from Supreme Court; Bail Granted in Fifth Case

Senior IAS officer Vinay Kumar Chaubey, an accused in the Hazaribagh land scam case, has received significant relief from the Supreme Court. The apex court granted him bail by accepting his plea in the fifth case. This development increases the likelihood of his release from jail, although proceedings in another case remain pending.
Chaubey had previously secured bail in four other cases, including two related to the liquor scam and others linked to the Hazaribagh land scam. He had approached the Supreme Court after being denied bail in this fifth case; the lower court and the Jharkhand High Court had previously rejected his bail petitions.
It is noteworthy that Vinay Kumar Chaubey was initially arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection with the liquor scam. Subsequently, during the investigation, an FIR was also registered against him regarding the alleged fraudulent sale and purchase of forest land during his tenure as the Deputy Commissioner of Hazaribagh.
With the Supreme Court granting bail in the fifth case, the possibility of his release from jail has become strong. However, all eyes remain on the further legal proceedings regarding the other pending case.
