Jharkhand allocated ₹2,705 crore, first installment of ₹786.72 crore released; Center announces VB-G Ram Ji scheme

The Central Government has made an interim allocation of ₹2,705.64 crore to Jharkhand under the 'Viksit Bharat-Rozgar aur Aajivika Guarantee Mission (Rural)'—or the VB-G Ram Ji scheme—and has released the first installment of ₹786.72 crore. The government asserts that there are no pending payments for any state or union territory in the country.
A record budget of ₹95,692.31 crore has been allocated for the 2026-27 financial year for this scheme, which comes into effect on July 1, 2026. Under the scheme, rural households will receive a legal guarantee of 125 days of wage employment. Union Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan provided this information in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha.
