Jharkhand's Digital Future: Chief Minister Hemant Soren to Present State's AI Roadmap on a National Platform

Ranchi: Jharkhand is poised to carve out a new identity in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital governance, and IT investment. Chief Minister Hemant Soren will present the state's digital roadmap at the 'National Stakeholders Consultation-2026,' scheduled to be held in New Delhi on July 8 and 9, 2026.

On this national platform, Jharkhand's future plans regarding IT, ITES, Artificial Intelligence, and digital governance will be showcased to leading domestic and international tech companies and policymakers. The government aims to establish Jharkhand as a frontrunner in AI-driven good governance, transparency, and citizen-centric services.

Representatives from approximately 100 major tech and IT companies will participate in the event. Discussions will focus on strategies to foster digital innovation, investment, and future technologies within the state.

Ranchi IT Park to be Developed Over 100 Acres

The Ranchi IT Park will be presented as an investment proposal at the national level for the first time. Spanning approximately 100.97 acres, the park will be developed in the 'Core Capital Area' of the state capital, Ranchi. Its proximity to IIM Ranchi and Birsa Munda Airport will ensure excellent connectivity.

Investors will also be apprised of incentives available under the Jharkhand IT Policy-2023, such as 50% capital investment reimbursement, 100% stamp duty exemption, and 100% electricity duty exemption.

Deliberations on AI Policy-2026

The draft AI Policy-2026 (2026-2031) will also be presented to key stakeholders during the consultation. The proposed policy includes plans to establish a 'State AI Mission' chaired by the Chief Minister, designate JAP-IT as the nodal agency, and develop a 'Jharkhand AI Cloud' in collaboration with IndiaAI.

AI to Strengthen Good Governance and Services

The state government is emphasizing the use of AI as a tool to enhance governance. Jharkhand's AI strategy will focus on key sectors such as good governance, agriculture and rural livelihoods, health, and mineral resource management.

The Chief Minister will also introduce the concept of the Data Intelligence Platform (CM-DIP). Through this initiative, data from various departments will be integrated to monitor schemes, improve decision-making processes, and strengthen digital services in local languages.
