Sensational ₹72.65 Lakh Fraud Case in Ranchi: Allegations of cheating under the guise of hospital partnership and directorship; FIR registered against four individuals, including two doctors
Ranchi. A case involving the fraud of lakhs of rupees under the pretext of investment in a hospital and a pathology lab has come to light in the Chutia police station area of the capital, Ranchi. An FIR has been registered against four individuals—including two doctors—at the Chutia police station based on a complaint filed by the victim, Priti Kumari (a resident of Gitanjali Enclave, Kusum Vihar, Morhabadi).
Piyush Kumar, Dr. Dionis Xess, Dr. Neha Anupama Sheetal, and Ranjan D'Cruz have been named as accused in the case.
According to the complaint, the victim's husband, Dr. Naveen Kumar, had become acquainted with Dr. Dionis Xess through professional circles in the medical field. It is alleged that during a meeting at Divine Pathology in Sirmtoli, a proposal was made for investment and partnership in a new hospital, Divine Superspeciality Hospital Private Limited. The victim was assured a 5% share and a directorship, and ₹54 lakh was collected from her. Additionally, a payment of ₹18.65 lakh was made for a 25% stake in Divine Pathology.
The victim alleges that despite handing over a total of ₹72.65 lakh, the shares were never transferred, she was not appointed as a director, and no details regarding the company's bank accounts or business operations were provided. No response was received even after a legal notice was sent.
The complaint further alleges that threats were issued when the return of funds or an account of the business was demanded. It is alleged that during meetings, Ranjan D'Cruz would attempt to intimidate others by placing a gun on the table. Allegations regarding irregularities in share valuation have also been raised.
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under sections covering fraud, criminal breach of trust, intimidation, assault, and other relevant charges, and have initiated an investigation. The police are examining the documents and allegations related to the matter and are proceeding with further action.
