🏆 Grand Conclusion of South Chotanagpur Police Sports Meet 2026; Ranchi Emerges as Overall Champion
Ranchi: The South Chotanagpur Police Sports Meet 2026 concluded on a grand note on Thursday. At the closing ceremony, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Manoj Kaushik honored the winning athletes and teams with trophies, medals, and certificates of appreciation.
Chief Guest Manoj Kaushik stated that sports make police personnel physically and mentally strong. They foster discipline, leadership qualities, teamwork, and the ability to make quick decisions. He remarked that amidst the stresses of police service, such competitions infuse new energy into the personnel and promote better coordination among the districts.
The sports meet was held from July 21 to 23, featuring competitions in various disciplines including athletics, football, hockey, cricket, volleyball, kabaddi, boxing, yoga, archery, wrestling, karate, judo, wushu, taekwondo, cycling, gymnastics, and weightlifting.
Ranchi district emerged as the overall champion of the competition. Khunti secured the second position, while Gumla finished third. All winning athletes and teams were felicitated.
The closing ceremony was attended by Ranchi SSP Rakesh Ranjan, SP (City) Paras Rana, SP (Rural) Gaurav Goswami, and SP (Traffic) Rakesh Singh, along with the Superintendents of Police from Khunti, Gumla, Lohardaga, and Simdega, as well as a large number of police officers and personnel.
