"Mom isn't my real mother..." Madhuri had left home after being influenced by neighbors' words

Ranchi: In the previous report, you read about an innocent girl found outside the Mall of Ranchi who kept saying, "Mom left me here... she will come back to pick me up." Now, the other side of her story has come to light.

Raju Kumar safely brought Madhuri (name changed)—the girl found in the Sukhdevnagar police station area—back home. Subsequently, conversations between the girl, her mother Shanti Devi (name changed), and an *M Bharat 24 News Live* correspondent revealed several details.

Shanti Devi explained that she had adopted Madhuri when the child was just two and a half years old and had been raising her ever since. According to her, Madhuri left home around 7 PM on Thursday, saying she was going to buy sago (*sabudana*), but did not return until late at night. When the girl failed to return, the family and neighbors began searching for her. Shanti Devi mentioned that she suffers from poor health and mobility issues, so she asked neighbors for help in finding Madhuri. Despite an extensive search, there was no trace of her.

She recounted that Raju Kumar—Shanti Devi's son—had called during the night, but she could not answer due to panic and anxiety. Later, it was revealed that Madhuri was safe and was being brought home.

Madhuri revealed that some people in the neighborhood tell her Shanti Devi is not her real mother and keeps her only to make her do chores. Meanwhile, Shanti Devi stated that certain individuals try to mislead the child; if the girl is scolded even slightly, these people fill her mind with negative ideas. This causes her to get upset and attempt to leave home. These words affect her deeply. She mentioned that about a week ago, too, Madhuri had left home without informing anyone and was brought back only after an extensive search.

For now, Madhuri is safe and has returned home. However, this incident highlights how things said in front of children... Things said to them can leave a deep impression on their minds. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of both the family and society to avoid saying things that could create confusion or misunderstandings among children.
