"Don’t You Have Any Other Work?": Chanho Circle Officer Sanjeev Kumar angered to Questions on Drinking Water Facilities

Chanho (Ranchi): While the intense summer heat continues to make life difficult for people and Chief Minister Hemant Soren  has directed all government offices to ensure adequate drinking water facilities for the public, allegations have surfaced regarding the lack of such arrangements at the Chanho Circle Office.

According to reports, there is no effective drinking water facility available for visitors at the Circle Office. Employees are said to bring water bottles for their personal use, while the RO water purification system meant for the public remains non-functional. Sources claim that the RO unit installed in a room adjacent to the Circle Officer’s chamber has been kept inaccessible, causing inconvenience to people visiting the office.

Every day, especially during Block Day proceedings, hundreds of citizens visit the Block and Circle Offices seeking solutions to their grievances. Amid the scorching heat, the absence of drinking water facilities has reportedly left many visitors struggling. Most people, however, refrained from speaking openly, fearing that complaints could affect the processing of their work. Nevertheless, the condition of people suffering from heat and thirst appeared to reflect the shortcomings in the office’s basic arrangements.

When a reporter from M Bharat 24 News LIVE questioned Chanho Circle Officer Sanjeev Kumar about the drinking water situation, he reacted sharply. He said, “Don’t you have any other work? If the RO is closed, we will have it brought outside. I am not aware of it.”

The Circle Officer’s response has further intensified concerns regarding the availability of drinking water facilities in the office. Sources maintain that the RO machine is installed near the Circle Officer’s chamber but is not being made accessible for public use.

The situation raises important questions. While the state government is making efforts to provide relief to people during the severe heatwave, why are even basic facilities such as drinking water reportedly unavailable at the Chanho Circle Office? Residents and visitors are now looking to the district administration to take cognizance of the matter and determine whether any action will follow.
