Workshop on Congenital Heart Disease Held at Ranchi Sadar Hospital; 100 Specialists Participate
A workshop on Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) was organized at Ranchi's Sadar Hospital on April 10, 2026. Jharkhand's Health Minister, Dr. Irfan Ansari, attended the event as the Chief Guest. Approximately 100 pediatricians from both the private and government sectors across the state participated. The objective of the program was to ensure the early detection, better management, and timely treatment of this serious condition in children. Experts highlighted that with timely treatment, 90% of children can lead normal lives. The team from Amrita Hospital has, to date, performed free surgeries on approximately 250 children in Jharkhand. The government announced plans to expand advanced healthcare facilities and establish more medical colleges within the state in the future.
