No Compromise on Women's Safety; Culprits Must Face the Gallows: Aditya Sahu

Ranchi: Widespread outrage prevails across the state following the heinous gang-rape of a dental student at the capital's RIMS (Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences) and the brutal assault on an innocent young girl within the jurisdiction of the Kotwali police station. Launching a scathing attack on the Hemant government's law and order machinery regarding these incidents, BJP State President Aditya Sahu asserted that the government has become blinded by the politics of appeasement. He made it clear that the BJP would make no compromises on the issue of women's safety and remains committed to ensuring that the culprits are sentenced to death through a speedy trial.

Government Accused of Appeasement Politics

The State President stated that, instead of viewing criminals as criminals, the Hemant government is viewing them through the lens of appeasement. Citing statistics, he pointed out that across both of the Chief Minister's tenures combined, more than 10,000 incidents of rape have occurred to date. Sahu alleged that in the majority of these incidents, the victims belong to the Hindu community; furthermore, instead of taking strict action against the perpetrators, the government merely goes through the motions—a failure that is emboldening criminals and fueling their audacity.

Major Protest Movement in the Capital on April 19 and 20

Demanding justice and protesting against the collapse of law and order, the Bharatiya Janata Party has outlined a plan for a protest movement:

Torchlight Procession (April 19): A torchlight procession will be organized from Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium to Albert Ekka Chowk, commencing at 5:30 PM.

Gherao (Siege) of the SSP Office (April 20): At 11:00 AM, under the joint aegis of the Ranchi Metropolitan, East, and West District units, a *gherao* (siege) of the Ranchi SSP office will be staged to raise a resounding voice for justice.

This is not merely a crime, but an incident that brings shame upon humanity. No daughter is safe anywhere in the state. We demand the death penalty for those guilty of these heinous crimes.

               Aditya Sahu, State President, BJP
