BJP Attacks Over Treasury Scam; Demands Judicial Probe
Ranchi: The BJP has launched a scathing attack on the Hemant government regarding the treasury scams in Jharkhand's Bokaro and Hazaribagh districts. Terming the episode "Fodder Scam Part-2," party spokesperson Ajay Sah stated that an impartial investigation would expose the involvement of several high-profile figures. He alleged that the scam was executed in a highly organized manner and that the complicity of senior officials cannot be ruled out.
Ajay Sah argued that it is inconceivable for a single accounts clerk to have carried out 63 unauthorized withdrawals over a period of 25 months; therefore, an inquiry into the role of the concerned officials is imperative. He claimed that the magnitude of the scam has already reached ₹20 crore across just these two districts. The BJP has demanded a judicial inquiry or a probe by the CBI into the matter to ensure that strict action is taken against the culprits.
