170 Children Registered at Congenital Heart Disease Screening Camp; 59 to be Sent to Kochi for Surgery
Ranchi, April 10, 2026: A special health screening camp for children suffering from congenital heart disease was organized at Sadar Hospital, Ranchi. This camp is being conducted through a joint initiative of the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (National Child Health Programme)—under the aegis of the National Health Mission—and Amrita Hospital.
A total of 170 children were registered at the camp today, out of whom 146 underwent screening. During the examinations, 59 children were identified as requiring surgery; they will be referred to Amrita Hospital, Kochi, for advanced medical treatment.
A team of specialist doctors is conducting detailed examinations of the children. Officials have appealed to parents to make full use of such camps should they observe any symptoms of heart disease in their children.
