Tata Group announces major investment in Jharkhand, focusing on new technology and knowledge industries
Ranchi, March 2, 2026: In a press conference held at the Chief Minister's residential office, Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran detailed plans for new investments in Jharkhand.
The Chief Minister stated that the Tata Group began its industrial journey in Jharkhand and has a historic relationship with the state. Today, the group has established a global presence and is making significant contributions to the development of Jharkhand and the country. He expressed confidence that this partnership will grow further.
Chairman Chandrasekaran stated that under the Chief Minister's able leadership, a favorable investment environment is developing in the state. The Tata Group will make new technology-based investments in the state. Production capacity will be increased through the use of advanced technology at Tata Steel and other units, and special attention will be paid to pollution control. Initiatives are also underway in cutting-edge areas such as hydrogen-based vehicle manufacturing.
He informed that a joint team will be formed between the state government and the Tata Group to establish knowledge-based industries in Jharkhand. Additionally, the scope and budget of CSR activities will be expanded to benefit more people. The Tata Group will also partner with the state government in youth skill development.
