A review meeting was held in Ranchi regarding filariasis elimination, with instructions for 100% drug distribution
Ranchi, February 28, 2026: On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate, Ranchi, Manjunath Bhajantri, the second meeting of the Mass Drug Administration 2026 was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Development Commissioner Saurabh Kumar Bhuwania. The meeting directed that 100% of the targeted population be covered with anti-filariasis medication. Administrators who failed to distribute the medication on time were warned of show-cause notices. Kanke recorded 84% coverage, Sonahatu 90% coverage, and Tamar 93% coverage, with a total of 88% receiving the medication. Officials were instructed to administer the medication to those who remained unvaccinated by March 15. The district administration appealed to citizens to ensure they receive the medication and contribute to the goal of a filariasis-free Ranchi.
