Lohardaga: A review meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tarachand assessed the progress of various components under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin)-II and Jal Jeevan Mission.
Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, the DC reviewed the status of under-construction toilets in all blocks for ODF 2024–25, new targets for ODF 2025–26, financial expenditure, targets for ODF Plus model villages and 5-star model villages. The availability and functioning of waste collection vehicles, Gobar Dhan scheme, menstrual hygiene management, electricity supply and machinery for PW units, and the status of Community Sanitary Complexes were also discussed. The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to complete all targets within the current financial year.
During the Jal Jeevan Mission review, the progress of household tap connections, Har Ghar Jal certification, water tax collection, connections under PM Janman, PM Gati Shakti, and tap water facilities in schools and Anganwadi centres was assessed. In the Single Village Scheme, officials were directed to complete projects and ensure timely revenue collection.
Hindalco Industries was instructed to complete all drinking water projects taken up under CSR within one week.
The meeting was attended by Anup Hansda, Executive Engineer, Drinking Water & Sanitation Division; all Junior Engineers; SBM District Coordinator Parvez Alam; and representatives of Hindalco Industries.
