Husband Sanjeev Kumar Singh alleged that Dr. Ravi Ranjan had stated that the operation was successful and informed her that the patient would be shifted to the OPD late in the evening. According to the family, they were not allowed to meet the patient and were told that she was sleeping at night. At 6 a.m., the hospital informed them that Sushma had died of heart failure.
Following the incident, the family created a ruckus, accusing the hospital administration of negligence. Upon receiving the information, the Sector-12 police station in-charge arrived with his team and brought the situation under control. The family submitted a written application, but when a case was not registered, they became angry and blocked the hospital gate.
Recognizing the seriousness of the matter, City DSP Alok Ranjan arrived at the scene in the afternoon and spoke with the family. After consent, a post-mortem examination was conducted. The DSP stated that action would be taken against the culprits once the report is received in 14 days.
It is noteworthy that Medicent Hospital has previously been accused of negligence in treatment, but no concrete action has been taken.
Medicent Hospital CEO Dr. Majid Talikoti stated that the patient had previously undergone a cesarean section and had a blocked urinary tract. Complications arose after the operation, leading to heart failure.
