It is noteworthy that on September 1st, a case was registered at Chandwara police station based on a written complaint from the deceased's wife, Zainab Bibi, regarding the suicide of suspended police constable Mansoor Alam by consuming poison at the police lines in Chandwara. In this case, a case has been filed against Jaynagar police station in-charge Bablu Singh, Domchanch police station in-charge Om Prakash Yadav, ASI Arvind Hansda posted at Jaynagar police station, and constable picket in-charge Ramesh Marandi for abetting the suicide.
The deceased had released a video making the allegations
Before committing suicide, the deceased Mansoor Alam had released a video. In this, they accused the four police officers of falsely accusing them of getting them suspended. Upon inquiry, Headquarters DSP Ratibhaan Singh stated that, based on the application of the deceased's wife, a case has been registered against the police officers for abetting suicide, and further action is being taken.
The Police Men's Association expressed displeasure over this police action, calling it a mere formality. State Vice President of the Association, Rehman Khan, stated that when SP Anudeep Singh, other district officials, and other police officers were paying tribute to the deceased Mansoor Alam at Police Lines Chandwara, they met with the Police Captain and demanded departmental action against the police officers, suspending them with immediate effect. However, not suspending the officers and merely registering a case is a betrayal of the deceased's family. He stated that if the Superintendent of Police does not suspend the station in-charges and the officers as soon as possible, they will meet with DGP Anurag Gupta and Chief Minister Hemant Soren to inform them of the matter and demand action against the guilty officers.
