The program began in Kashidih, where the Ravana effigy, along with tableaux of Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, and Hanuman, was paraded through various routes to the Ramlila ground in Sakchi. The crowds enjoyed the festivities and swayed in devotion along the way.
The dialogues between Ravana and Rama in the Ramlila performance thrilled the audience. On stage, Ravana roared, "Your efforts are in vain, O Rama, my kingdom will not be destroyed." Rama replied with patience and courage,
"No matter how great the power of falsehood and sin, ultimately truth and righteousness prevail, Ravana." Lakshman, upon Rama's command, shot his arrow and said, "Brother, now is the time to end evil."
On the stage, Hanuman challenged Ravana, and Lord Rama targeted Ravana's effigy with his powerful arrows. Ravana was then burned amid fireworks and firecrackers throughout the grounds. The sky lit up with light as the crowd chanted "Jai Shri Ram" to celebrate the victory of good over evil.
Manoj Mishra, director of the Sri Sri Ramlila Utsav Samiti, said that this event is not just a religious tradition, but a symbol of the power of truth, righteousness, and goodness in society. He urged the city's residents to participate with their families in this sacred occasion and witness the triumph of good over evil.
This event not only enhanced the religious significance of Dussehra but also honored Jamshedpur's cultural and historical traditions. Devotional songs, cultural performances, and fireworks throughout the event created a devotional and exciting atmosphere.
