14 Players Leave for Delhi for the National Gatka Championship

Jharkhand/Palamu: Players from the Palamu Gatka Association departed for Delhi from Daltonganj Railway Station on Wednesday to participate in the 9th National Gatka Championship. The competition will be held from October 10th to 12th at Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, North Campus, Delhi. This event is dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.

An atmosphere of excitement prevailed at the station premises as the players were sent off. District President of Palamu Gatka Association Sonu Namdhari, Vice President Gurbir Singh, Bablu Chawla, Mannat Bagga, Treasurer Amresh Kumar Mehta, Joint Secretary Deependra Singh, and Physical Education Teacher Anil Pandey from Guru Gobind Singh Public School were present.

District President Sonu said that the players from Palamu have proven their mettle by performing brilliantly at the state level. We are confident that they will bring glory to the district in this national competition to be held in Delhi as well.

District Secretary Sumit Barman stated that this year, a total of 14 players from various schools in Palamu have been selected to compete in the sub-junior and junior categories.

Sumit Barman also stated that this year, Palamu is particularly proud of his selection as a national referee, making him the first person from Jharkhand to achieve this feat.
