Fire in the wheel of Shridham Express

Madhya Pradesh/Jabalpur: There was a stir in the Shridham Express going from Jabalpur to Hazrat Nizamuddin on Monday evening when the wheel of the sleeper coach (S-1) of the train suddenly caught fire. However, due to the understanding of the passengers and the promptness of the railway employees, the fire was controlled in time. Panic spread among the passengers as soon as they saw the flames. A passenger pulled the chain of the train without wasting time, due to which the train stopped. Due to this incident, the train stopped for about 15 minutes, which caused some delay in the journey. Fortunately, no passenger was injured in this incident.

This incident happened around 7 pm, when the train was leaving Jabalpur and reaching near Shridham station near Shahpura. Suddenly some passengers saw smoke and flames coming out from under the coach. As soon as the news of the fire was received, the AC attendant and other railway employees present in the train immediately reached the spot. They started trying to extinguish the fire with the fire extinguishers they had brought with them. After about 15 minutes of effort, the fire was completely controlled. After the fire was extinguished, railway engineers thoroughly examined the wheel so that there is no further danger. The train was sent off again only after the investigation was completed. The railway administration has taken the incident seriously. Senior officials of West Central Railway have ordered a detailed investigation into the matter.
