Jharkhand/Ranchi : CMPDI has received the official Exploration License Certificate for the Navtala-Devigarh Rare Earth Elements (REE) Exploration Block in Rajasthan. Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy presented the Exploration License Certificate to CMPDI at a national seminar held at the Centre of Excellence under the National Mission on Critical Minerals in Hyderabad. The certificate was received by Coal India Chairman P.M. Prasad, CMPDI General Manager (Exploration) Rajiv Kumar Singh, and Senior Manager (Geology) Dr. R.P. Singh.
The acquisition of this license is a significant achievement, further strengthening CMPDI's position as a premier consulting agency in the strategic exploration and development of mineral resources critical to India's industrial development and technological advancement. The exploration of this REE block is in line with the national priorities of securing indigenous sources of minerals required for high-tech applications, clean energy technologies, and defense sectors.
It is pertinent to mention that as part of its diversification efforts beyond coal and lignite, CMPDI has successfully completed three bauxite exploration projects and one base metal exploration project, such as copper, lead, and zinc, and exploration is underway in a magnetite block. This expansion reflects CMPDI's growing expertise and commitment to exploring a wide range of critical and strategic minerals essential for India's security and industrial development.
