Jharkhand/Ranchi: State Congress General Secretary cum Media Incharge Rakesh Sinha has said that after being ousted from power, BJP wants to gain political advantage by misleading the tribal society.
Sinha said this on Wednesday by issuing a press release on the statement given by former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das on PESA Act. He said that why Raghuvar Das did not take steps towards implementing PESA Act while being the Chief Minister from 2014 to 2019 and why did he prepare a proposal to amend the CNT-SPT Act and send it to the Raj Bhavan. He alleged that the objective of BJP is not tribal self-rule but to gain power by spreading confusion.
Sri Sinha said that the Mahagathbandhan government is serious about PESA rules and the process is in the final stage. Congress has always been fighting for tribal identity, language, culture and rights and strengthened it by bringing Forest Rights Act in UPA rule. Whereas the Modi government snatched the land of tribals in the interest of capitalists.
