Jharkhand/Ranchi: The Municipal Corporation has become active in preparations for the idol immersion ceremony in various Ranchi water bodies after Vijayadashami and the upcoming Chhath festival.
On Monday, on the occasion of Mahasaptami, Administrator Sushant Gaurav, along with the Municipal Corporation team, inspected Chadri Pond, Jail Pond, Bada Pond (Vivekananda Sarovar), Joda Pond, and PHED Pond. During the inspection, he provided necessary instructions regarding the beautification, special cleaning, lighting, and security arrangements of the various ponds.
The Administrator issued the following instructions:
Chadri Pond: Instructions for attractive landscaping, cleaning, lighting, and installing slabs on drains.
Jail Pond: Instructions for strengthening the cleaning system, installing two high-mast lights, and conducting an encroachment-free campaign outside the boundary wall.
Bada Talab (Vivekananda Sarovar): Instructions were given to prepare proposals for rejuvenation, improvement of paver blocks, installation of high-mast lights and attractive lighting, a comprehensive cleanliness drive, and the development of a vending zone. Instructions were also given to take action against those dumping waste in the reservoir and impose fines as per the rules.
Joda Talab and PHED Talab: Instructions were given to immediately complete special cleaning, pathway cleaning, leveling, and civil works.
Immersion Instructions:
- Ensure special cleaning arrangements on all designated idol immersion routes and remove idol remains from the water within 24 hours of immersion.
- Instructions were given to construct water tanks at designated locations and fence them with bamboo and green nets.
- Ensure safety measures at deep locations through red ribbons, bamboo, and information boards.
- Corporation supervisors will be present at the site to coordinate with puja committees and ensure separate collection of biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials.
- Puja committees were instructed to immerse idols only at designated sites and not to use plastic, thermocol, or other polluting materials.
- After immersion, ponds should be cleaned immediately and a cleanliness drive should be launched again.
On the occasion, the Administrator stated that the Corporation's objective is to ensure cleanliness, safety, and all necessary arrangements are in place at the immersion sites so that devotees do not face any inconvenience. He stated that with the same promptness with which the Corporation worked last year, this year too, the immersion will be conducted in the traditional manner in collaboration with the Puja committees, and it will be ensured that no dirt is spread in the water bodies.
Additional Administrator Sanjay Kumar, Deputy Administrator Gautam Prasad Sahu, Assistant Administrator, along with the Engineering and Electrical Department teams were present on the occasion.
