Kanya Puja is performed every day during Navratri in Kansir Village

Jharkhand/Gumla: The Kansir Village Durga Puja Committee of the Raidih block of the district organizes Durga Puja with devotion every year. Villagers voluntarily set dates for Kanya Pujan, from one to ten pujas daily, and the grand Kanya Pujan ceremony is a sight to behold.

Khemchand Jha, the chief priest and founding member of the Durga Puja Committee, stated that since 1994, the worship of Goddess Bhagwati has been performed with great devotion. The entire village participates in the ceremony. This year, the chief worshippers are Gagan Kumar Singh and Khileshwar Singh, while the assistants are Krishna Thakur and Kumbhakaran Singh. The reciters are Rajendra Pandit and Phool Kumar Sharma.

Tribal communities are also present.

A distinctive feature of the organizing committee is that the tribal community actively participates in the Durga Puja. On Monday, on the occasion of Mahasaptami, Kanya Pujan was performed by Rajendra Pandit and Om Narayan Singh. In this, the girls who were worshipped as Kanya, Shreya Munda, Priya Rautiya, Aastha Bhagat, Sushila Bhagat, Parvati Kumari, Pooja Kumari, Reema Munda, Lilavati Kumari, Chandrika Bhagat, Sumitra Kumari, Neetu Das, Neha Das, Khushi Kumari, Nandani Kumari, Chitra Das, Muneshwari Kumari and Khushi Kumari were worshipped with devotion considering them to be the form of Bhagwati. All the villagers remained engrossed in welcoming these ladies with humility. A Bhandara was also organised by the committee in the programme.
