A humane and compassionate side of Jharkhand's Health, Food Supply, and Disaster Management Minister, Dr. Irfan Ansari, was witnessed on Monday at Baba Baidyanath Dham during the Shravani Mela 2026. After inaugurating the 'Mata Hiramani Devi Kanwariya Camp,' he inspected various camps—including the one run by the Congress party—and took stock of the health, food, drinking water, and other facilities being provided to the pilgrims.
During the inspection, the Minister reviewed health services, sanitation, food supply, and the quality of 'Peda Prasad.' He instructed officials that no negligence regarding the convenience and health arrangements for pilgrims would be tolerated.
Observing the massive crowds gathered on the first Monday of the holy month, he directed the Health Department, Disaster Management Department, and concerned officials to remain on high alert. He emphasized that ambulances, doctors, nursing staff, and disaster management teams must be ready 24/7 to serve the pilgrims, ensuring immediate assistance in case of any emergency.
A compassionate side of the Minister also came to the fore during the visit. Approaching Kanwariyas exhausted from their long trek, Dr. Irfan Ansari personally massaged their feet, provided medicines, and rubbed their legs to offer relief from pain. The pilgrims appreciated this heartfelt gesture by the Minister.
Dr. Irfan Ansari stated, "Serving pilgrims is true service to humanity. Helping the needy, rising above religion, caste, and community, is the hallmark of our culture and humanity. It is a privilege for me to have the opportunity to serve the devotees of Baba Bholenath."
