“Allegations of Sexual Exploitation of Female Inmate at Birsa Munda Jail Spark Uproar in Jharkhand Politics”
Ranchi: Politics in Jharkhand has heated up over the Birsa Munda Central Jail, located in the state capital, Ranchi. Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi has written a letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, leveling serious allegations against the jail administration regarding the alleged sexual exploitation of a female inmate.
In his letter, Marandi claimed that a senior jail official allegedly sexually exploited a female inmate, following which it came to light that she had become pregnant. He further alleged that attempts are being made to cover up the entire matter, destroy evidence, and shield the culprits.
The Leader of the Opposition stated that the victim—the female inmate—is being repeatedly taken out of the jail under the pretext of medical treatment. Additionally, allegations have been raised regarding the removal of potential witnesses connected to the case.
Marandi has demanded that the government conduct an impartial inquiry into the matter and take immediate, strict action against the guilty officials. He warned that if swift action is not taken, serious questions will be raised regarding the government's own role in the affair.
The issue has triggered a round of mutual recriminations within the state's political landscape, with the opposition accusing the government of attempting to suppress the matter.
However, neither the state government nor the jail administration has issued any official response regarding this matter so far. The allegations could not be independently verified at this time.
