Workshop on Coal Mine Emission Assessment Held at CMPDI
Ranchi, February 14: CMPDI, in collaboration with IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, organized a one-day interactive workshop on "Assessment of Uncontrolled Emissions from Coal Mines and Fuel Switching" for BTR-2 and BTR-3. The workshop focused on developing standardized methods for measuring emissions from opencast, underground, and abandoned mines, transportation, and fuel switch processes. The program is aligned with India's transparency reporting obligations under the Paris Agreement. Following the lamp lighting ceremony, experts from CMPDI, the Ministry of Coal, the Ministry of Environment, CIL, and industry shared their views. Representatives from several organizations, including CCL, BCCL, ECL, WCL, SECL, MCL, and NTPC, were present.
