Preparations begin for Mahashivratri at Ranchi Pahari Temple: Strict security measures in place, plastic banned
Ranchi: A review meeting was held on February 15th, chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the Ranchi Pahari Temple Development Committee, Manjunath Bhajantri, to ensure the successful organization of Mahashivratri. The Deputy Commissioner instructed that the 'Ardha system' (a system for offering water to the deity) would be implemented in the temples for the convenience of devotees, and live telecast of the aarti (prayer ceremony) on Doordarshan (national television) is also being considered.
On the security front, female and male police personnel, along with plainclothes officers, will be deployed to ensure the safety of women and prevent incidents of harassment, snatching, and pickpocketing. The Deputy Commissioner made a special appeal to devotees to refrain from using plastic in the temple premises and to use only natural materials (such as leaf plates and cups).
During the meeting, instructions were given for uninterrupted power supply, increasing the number of CCTV cameras, and removing encroachments. Several officials, including SP City Paras Rana and SDM Kumar Rajat, were present at the meeting.
