Major Changes in the AYUSH System, 422 Doctors to be Appointed Soon – Health Minister
Ranchi, February 20, 2026: In response to a starred question from Ranchi MLA Chandrashekhar Prasad Singh during the budget session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari made a major announcement regarding the AYUSH system. He stated that a requisition for the appointment of 422 AYUSH doctors has been sent to the JPSC, and appointments will be made as soon as recommendations are received.
The Minister stated that despite vacant positions in many institutions, OPDs are operating regularly, and arrangements are being managed through deputation and contractual arrangements as needed. The creation of Class III and IV posts in the AYUSH Directorate is underway. The government is committed to addressing the staff shortage by strengthening AYUSH institutions.
