INS Sudarshini Arrives in Salalah, Marking the First International Stop of 'Lokayan-26' Voyage

Salalah (Oman): Indian Navy's sail training vessel INS Sudarshini arrived at Salalah port in Oman on February 2, 2026. This marks the first international port call of its historic transoceanic voyage, 'Lokayan-26'. The ten-month deployment aims to showcase India's rich maritime heritage on a global platform and strengthen international maritime cooperation.

INS Sudarshini departed from its home port of Kochi on January 20, 2026, and successfully completed the first leg of its journey amidst the seasonal winds of the Arabian Sea. This stop in Oman reflects the strong maritime ties and strategic partnership between India and Oman.

During the three-day visit, operational discussions and training programs will be conducted with the Royal Navy of Oman. The ship will also be open to school children and local citizens, promoting maritime awareness and public engagement. The 'Lokayan-26' voyage symbolizes the Indian Navy's commitment to maritime diplomacy and international cooperation.
