Jharkhand/East Singhbhum: Union Minister Annapurna Devi attended the Panchayat-level workers’ conferences held at Galudih and Dhalbhumgarh in the Ghatshila Assembly constituency on Tuesday, where she infused enthusiasm among party workers.
In her address, Annapurna Devi said that the lotus is not merely an election symbol but a symbol of development, trust, and respect for women. She added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has taken remarkable strides toward development and achieved historic milestones in women’s empowerment.
The Union Minister highlighted that government schemes such as Ujjwala Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and Matru Vandana Yojana have brought significant changes to the lives of millions of women. She said that Prime Minister Modi continues to receive the blessings of the women of India because he has worked with complete dedication toward their dignity, safety, and empowerment.
During the event, Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal expressed concern over the rising number of Bangladeshi infiltrators in Ghatshila, calling it a serious challenge for the region. He alleged that the state government has linked the names of non-local Muslim women to the Maiya Samman Yojana, thereby undermining the rights of local women. He asserted that only a BJP government can resolve this issue.
Jaiswal urged the people present to vote overwhelmingly in favor of BJP candidate Babulal Soren in the upcoming Ghatshila Assembly by-election.
The event was also attended by former minister Barkunwar Gagrai, MLA Shatrughan Mahato, BJP district and mandal officials, party workers, and hundreds of women supporters.
