Jharkhand/Ranchi : The Jharkhand Provincial Marwari Conference has demanded that former Jharkhand Chief Minister Guruji Shibu Soren be awarded the Bharat Ratna. Conference President Suresh Chandra Agarwal and General Secretary Vinod Jain wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday requesting this award.
The letter states that Shibu Soren's life was filled with constant struggle to protect tribal identity and establish democratic values. He fought throughout his life for the rights of not only the tribal community but also the underprivileged and working class.
Shibu Soren's historic role in the creation of Jharkhand is well known. He made invaluable contributions to social justice, environmental protection, tribal culture, and the upliftment of rural life. Therefore, Guruji should be awarded the Bharat Ratna.
Conference President Suresh Chandra Agarwal said that if the Government of India awards Shibu Soren the Bharat Ratna, it will bring pride and honor to the tribal community and those who support democracy not only in Jharkhand but across the country. In such a situation, it will be a matter of good fortune for Jharkhand if Guruji gets the Bharat Ratna award.
