Summary revision of voter list started in Ghatsila assembly

Jharkhand/East Singhbhum: Under the guidelines of the Election Commission of India, special summary revision of voter list has started in Ghatsila assembly constituency in East Singhbhum district from Wednesday. In this sequence, Electoral Registration Officer cum SDO Ghatsila Sunil Chandra invited the representatives of all the recognized political parties of the area to the office and provided claim and objection forms.

He urged the parties to do extensive publicity at their level and encourage eligible citizens to fill the relevant forms for registration as new voters, correction in name, change in address or removal of names of dead-transferred voters. In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on transparency of the election process and inclusion of all eligible voters in the voter list.

The Electoral Registration Officer said that during the special summary revision, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are contacting the voters. He appealed to the political parties that their booth level agents should also cooperate in this work. He also assured that all claims and objections will be received and examined within the stipulated period and their timely execution will be ensured.

On this occasion, all political parties welcomed this campaign of the Election Commission and assured all possible cooperation in making the voter list updated and error-free.
