Jharkhand/Ranchi: Ranchi Institute of Neuro-Psychiatry and Allied Sciences (Rinpas) celebrated the centenary of its glorious history. The chief guest of this ceremony was Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the special guests were Pratima Murthy, Director of National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) from Bengaluru, Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, Health Minister Dr Irfan Ansari, former Union Minister Subodhkant Sahay, Kanke MLA Suresh Baitha, Khijri MLA Rajesh Kachhap, Chief Postmaster General Vidhan Chandra Rai, Additional Chief Secretary of Health Family Welfare and Medical Education Department Ajay Kumar Singh. Sushma Nag's team welcomed the guests with folk music and folk dance amid the melodious sounds of drums and flute. The chief guest and special guests were welcomed by giving them plants, angavastra and mementoes. The program was started by lighting lamps with the worship of Mother Saraswati. In the centenary celebration program to mark the completion of 100 years of Rinpas' historical journey, Chief Guest Chief Minister Hemant Soren greeted and greeted all present. He said that Rinpas has been dedicated to the service of the common people since before the country got independence. Two institutions Rinpas and CIP are providing services in the mental health sector in the state. Rinpas is run by the state government while CIP is run by the central government. Rinpas was established as Indian Mental Hospital in 1925 AD, I don't know what the state of mind would have been at that time, but in today's environment, its role is going to be leading. I never got a chance to come here. I feel that this area has been left out. In the coming time, after a special review, we will work on what can be done. The problems and challenges here are different. Work has been done on the system that was there, from what I am seeing now, it seems that we will have to work seriously for this institution. Those who had imagined such an institution must have had a very far-sighted thinking. The way mental problems are increasing, new advanced technologies are needed for treatment here, there is a need to work from infrastructure to educational system. Mr. Soren said that very soon we will see Rinpas changing.

Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari described the arrival of
Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the centenary celebrations as encouraging. He
said that a team of scientists from the country and abroad has also come to
this three-day program. This is not only a hospital but a boon for Jharkhand,
it is a matter of pride that institutions like Rinpas are in Jharkhand. We are
behind in the field of health, but the development that did not happen in the
last 20 years has happened in the last six years. The Chief Minister says that
whether the work is big or small, everything has to be done. Rinpas will be
equipped with high-tech facilities. Work has also been done to make the society
aware. Earlier, major mental cases used to come but now 10 to 15 children come
every day who cannot sleep and symptoms of depression are also being found.
Emphasizing the need for awareness programs, he said that I will reach every
village through telemedicine.
Rinpas has provided
service with the idea of Nar Seva Narayan Seva: Sanjay Seth
Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth said that Rinpas has completed 100 years working with the idea of Nar Seva Narayan Seva. This is a matter of pride for Jharkhand, Rinpas is providing service to 80 thousand to one lakh people every year. Rinpas deserves congratulations and good wishes, while expressing concern, he said that the youth want to get everything in a short time. Efforts to bring them into the mainstream are possible only in Rinpas.

On the arrival of Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the Satabadi Samaroh, RIMS director Dr. Amul Ranjan Singh said that The Chief Minister was drawn to me with special affection and love. He said that this is the first free mental health hospital in the whole of India. Here, patients are given free medication for two months. The recovery rate is very good. Many awareness activities are carried out which give direction to the society. The problem of mobile addiction of children is becoming serious. There is also a facility of rehabilitation here, training of 6 to 8 months is given so that after leaving the prison one does not have to be a burden on anyone and can earn his own bread.
