Modi government stands with the disaster affected people of Himachal: Durgadas Uike

Himachal Pradesh/Shimla: Union Minister of State Durgadas Uike said that the Central Government is making every possible effort to help the people of Himachal Pradesh affected by the flood disaster. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, immediate assistance of Rs 1,500 crore has been released to speed up the reconstruction and relief work of the affected areas.

Minister Durgadas Uike, who was on a visit to Bharmour Assembly constituency of Chamba district on Sunday, held a department-wise meeting of all the departmental officers of Chamba district here. In the meeting, he gave clear instructions to the officers that the problems of the local people should be resolved on priority basis and the damaged infrastructure in the flood affected areas should be strengthened soon. He said that it is the responsibility of the Central and State Government to ensure that the benefits of relief and rehabilitation schemes reach the ground level.

After the meeting, Bharmour MLA Janak Raj and district officials submitted a report to the minister on the damage caused by the flood disaster and the report prepared to deal with it. The minister said that on the basis of this report, the central government will take necessary steps and no stone will be left unturned to provide relief to the people.

During the tour, the minister met the flood-affected families in Bharmour area and enquired about their well-being. He said that in the hour of disaster, the central government is standing shoulder to shoulder with the people of Himachal.

While talking to local social workers and senior citizens, he said that the example of courage, determination and mutual cooperation shown by the people of Chamba even after the flood disaster is exemplary.

He said, “My dear brothers and sisters, your spirit and the spirit of helping each other in this difficult time of disaster compels me to salute you. The central government is with you and together we will come out of this disaster.”
