New Delhi: Adani Power Limited will set up a 2,400 MW (ultra super-critical) state-of-the-art power plant in Bihar with an investment of three billion dollars (about Rs 26,482 crore).
The Adani Group company said in a statement on Saturday that it has signed a 25-year power supply agreement (PSA) with Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited BSPGCL. Under this, power will be supplied from the project to be set up in Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district of the state.
The company said that it plans to invest about US $ 3 billion under the design, build, finance, own and operate model for the construction of the new plant (800 MWx3) and its supporting infrastructure. The company aims to commission these plants in 60 months.
Adani Power Limited has acquired this project by offering a minimum supply rate of Rs 6.075 per kilowatt hour. This agreement is in addition to the Letter of Award issued by BSPGCL to Adani Power in August on behalf of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited.
It is worth mentioning that Adani Power Limited is a company of the Adani Group, which sets up projects related to the production of electrical energy. Its headquarters is in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
