Jharkhand/Ranchi: The district administration has started extensive preparations for Durga Puja. In this sequence, a review meeting was held in the Collectorate Auditorium on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to work with full dedication with collective responsibility and team work during the festival. He clearly said that no leave of any government personnel will be approved during the festival, because negligence can affect security and public facilities. Apart from this, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized on creating a special WhatsApp group regarding the puja and maintaining coordination with all departments and puja committees. Also, ordered to ensure prompt action in any situation by strictly monitoring social media.
In the meeting, the Civil Surgeon was directed to deploy ambulances and medical teams at crowded places, SDO Sadar was directed to coordinate with Traffic SP and Municipal Corporation for traffic arrangements. The Municipal Corporation was asked to ensure repair of roads, street light repair and ban on single use plastic.
The fire department was ordered to make security arrangements in all the pandals and the electricity department was ordered to repair the worn out wires and transformers.
