The government wants to keep Jharkhandis away from the sand tender process: Badkunwar

West Singhbhum: The political controversy over the state government's decision to auction sand ghats in various districts of the state as a group is deepening. In this connection, on Thursday, former minister and BJP state vice-president Badkunwar Gagrai accused the state government and said that in the notification issued, the process of bidding together has been adopted by combining 10 ghats in one group and 13 ghats in another group.

Gagarai says that this method is a conspiracy to exclude the local people of Jharkhand from the tender process. He said that it is clear from this kind of auction policy that the government wants to give opportunities to the big businessmen of Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, Chennai, Tamil Nadu instead of the local businessmen of Jharkhand. He also alleged that this policy is an indication of taking the transparent sand system of Jharkhand back to anarchy. Gagrai reminded that earlier also the Hemant Soren government had spread chaos in the state by handing over the sand tender to an outside company, due to which the local people had to suffer.

Gagarai raised the question that if the government really wants the welfare of the people of Jharkhand, then why is it not simplifying the tender process and auctioning the ghats individually. He said that auctioning the ghats in groups will not provide opportunities to local small businessmen and youth at the panchayat level.

The BJP leader has demanded the state government to immediately withdraw this decision and warned that if it is not reconsidered, the party will start a mass movement. He appealed to the youth and rural businessmen of Jharkhand to unite against this policy.
