Ranchi, September 25, 2026: Air travel was significantly affected in Ranchi on Friday as adverse weather conditions disrupted flight operations at Birsa Munda Airport. IndiGo cancelled 12 scheduled flight rotations, affecting a total of 24 aircraft movements, including 12 arrivals and 12 departures.
The cancelled services included flights connecting Ranchi with several major cities. 6E 7561/7562, operating on the Kolkata–Ranchi–Kolkata route, 6E 6484/6799 on the Pune–Ranchi–Bengaluru route, and 6E 421/398 on the Hyderabad–Ranchi–Hyderabad route were among the cancelled flights.
Other affected services included 6E 6087/6088 on the Mumbai–Ranchi–Mumbai route, 6E 6493/925 on the Ahmedabad–Ranchi–Patna route, and 6E 2259/5207 on the Delhi–Ranchi–Delhi route.
The 6E 2614/2286 Delhi–Ranchi–Delhi service was also cancelled. Evening flights including 6E 7325/7326 Kolkata–Ranchi–Kolkata, 6E 6902/6654 Patna–Ranchi–Ahmedabad, 6E 5023/6274 Delhi–Ranchi–Delhi, 6E 221/6272 Bengaluru–Ranchi–Pune, and 6E 7674/7235 Kolkata–Ranchi–Kolkata were also cancelled.
Meanwhile, IX 1239/1244 (Bengaluru–Ranchi–Bengaluru) was cancelled due to operational reasons.
Several flights also experienced delays. IX 1046 (Delhi–Ranchi) was scheduled to arrive at 8:40 AM but reached Ranchi at 9:56 AM. Its return flight, IX 1047 (Ranchi–Delhi), was scheduled to depart at 9:10 AM but took off at 10:52 AM.
In view of the weather conditions, passengers have been advised to check the latest flight status with their respective airlines before leaving for the airport. Flight timings may be subject to further changes depending on weather and operational conditions.
